Yes, I edited this photo quite a bit, however I continue to be impressed by the colour and detail that can be revealed in iPhone night-mode shots. (This scene from last night was almost pitch-black.) We truly are living in a simulation now! 😱

Check out the latest YouTube video by @ismh, in which he identifies Apple dongles whilst blindfolded. I was impressed.

In ‘23. Ending on a High’ on the Lounge Ruminator podcast, I discuss the art of saying ‘no more’, Australian cultural cringe, a persistent icon and someone who quit at the right time. 🎙

French toast is the most nostalgic breakfast for me.

Earlier today, [@NTKF](https://micro.blog/NTKF) brought it to my attention that one of our budgies, Rio, wanted to get out because he was playing with the cage door. Now that it’s open, he is persisting noisily with another one, so perhaps it’s a new favourite hobby. They’re essentially avian children.

In my latest episode of Lounge Ruminator, ‘22. Quantifying Yourself’, I discuss fandom, pandemic effects on podcasts and how we quantify ourselves.

I’m not a patriotic person but it’s things like this—bird sounds—that make me love where I live.

This week on my Lounge Ruminator podcast, I invited my sister Jodie to discuss the topic of sibling relationships, nature versus nurture and the habits that we create. Check it out! 😀 🎙

Sulphur-crested cockatoos never cease to amuse me. They’re always so curious and loud, not to mention the fact that they have such permanently stunned expressions.

The Shape of Things to Come from the reimagined Battlestar Galactica is one of the best pieces—if not the best piece—of music ever written for TV. All of Bear McCreary’s music is excellent. 🎵 🌟

While we ate almond croissants, Paco and Coco went crazy for corn.

Typography surrounds us—yet so many people ignore it. By paying better attention to type, how can we better appreciate its influence on us and how we communicate? Listen to ‘20. What’s Your Type’ on Lounge Ruminator. 🎙

If you’re a fan of the movie Blade Runner (as I am!), check out my uni co-supervisor’s class in the practice of live-tweeting the film. His tweet, using the subject hashtag #BCM325, kicks off the discussion.

Apr 2020

As I push further into home-office life, I’ve decided to adopt a hybrid approach to dressing up for work. On the one hand, I dial things up to ‘semi-fancy’ with my Apple Watch leather loop; on the other, I keep myself grounded by wearing my daggy Australian ski resort trackie dacks from over a decade ago. 🧐⛷

There’s a little family of mushrooms growing on the footpath outside. I’m sure that they’re not fit to eat but they do look remarkably like the ones that we buy from our local grocer.
