Feld Notes

@Alcedine Excellent feedback, thank you Valerie!

On point one, you're totally right that they are fairly timid and harmless, however since they are prone to running around (as hunting spiders do), whenever they're in a tight space like a car, they can cause a lot of commotion and have been known to cause accidents when terrified humans are thrown into the mix.

Regarding point two, I completely agree with you about how the word 'obviously' may be interpreted in that sentence. In my mind, unfortunately without extra mentioned context on the show, that ‘obviously’ lazily referred to Natasha's own hatred of dealing with spiders, cockroaches, etc., rather than any intended commentary on women. That was just a poor choice of words. In fact, I learnt all of my skills in dealing with arachnids and insects around the house from my mum, who is the complete master of it! 😀

Finally, on the last point, thank you for confirming the pronunciation of 'Nissan’. I've long thought (but wasn't sure) that the 'Knee-san' pronunciation is more correct, but in Australia we rely too much on the schwa in our accent, so it feels less natural to say that version.

Please keep giving any thoughts that you have!
