Haha thanks for tagging me, @Burk! Well, @dandycat, I can understand that for many, pickles do have quite a strong flavour. If you're not into having them on their own, they work beautifully as a complement to other foods. I'm thinking sliced pickles with tomato and cheddar on top of crackers (Arnott's Saladas specifically, in Australia), on sandwiches in the form of pickle chutney or on cheeseburgers, of course. After a while, you come to love the flavour of the pickle/gherkin itself, very much like pickled ginger, onions, radishes and turnips.
