Mac had his first-ever visit to the cinema this weekend to see Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. The movie was a fantastic continuation of The Wrong Trousers and it was delightful to see the joy and amazement on Mac’s face as he sat transfixed by the big screen.
Mac is currently obsessed with bats. There’s nothing better than the joy that beamed from his face this evening when we walked back from buying sour cream at the petrol station and I spotted numerous fruit bats flying overhead between gum trees. BATS!!! 🤣🦇🥰
Godzilla Minus One = awesome! An engaging storyline, excellent effects and characters that you actually care about 👌 💯
I discovered recently that every time I’ve imported photos from my E-M10 Mark IV, they’ve been added to an album called OMDS (OM Digital Solutions). I got the camera last September, so it has been wonderful to browse a year of images. It’s the best purchase I’ve ever made. 💯
I put The Simpsons on and two-year-old Mac instantly pointed at Marge and Homer, exclaiming, ‘Mum! Dad!’ I’m impressed but also disturbed. 😂
Today marks 10 years with @NTKF; I’m beyond grateful for our time together so far and all the things that she has done for me. ❤️ She’s a wonderful partner, mother and person in general.
Clearly, attempts to brainwash my son to love The Matrix from an early age are working, as sentences like the following are often heard in our house now: ‘Finish your banana, then you can watch Neo’.
At the end of each day, with so much time emailing and in social feeds (my role is in communication), my brain is so fuzzy that I notice myself making weird pauses when I speak or just staring into space. Without my old commute, the best antidote is an afternoon walk. Who can relate to this?
John Wick: Chapter 4 = pure entertainment
In addition to my family, of course, the thing that I miss when away from Australia is ubiquitous eucalyptus. It’s good to be home.
A wonderful but exhausting Christmas Day! Mac was spoilt by the extended family, of course, and I spent a good deal of time editing and distributing photos through the wonderful feature that is shared albums in Photos!
This is my first go at using the new microposting feature in MarsEdit 5—nice one, @danielpunkass!
I just watched The Menu with @NTKF and strongly recommend it! Witty, creative, amusing and disturbing!
Here’s my brief, spoiler-free review of The Matrix Resurrections: an awesome and oh-so-satisfying extension of the franchise that perfectly blends the old, the new and the meta; I liked it even more than I thought that I would. 🎥
Months later, I can say unequivocally that the iPhone 12 mini is the first phone that I have ever purchased that has not disappointed me in some way or left me longing for something. Coming from an 11 Pro, the overall design, size, weight and feature set are brilliant.
In the next HVmini, it’s @canion’s turn to be cross-examined! Hear how he justifies his own set-up at home on his desk. 🎙
Day 7: Reports from the press about how much food I ate at the local German club tonight are grossly inflated. #mbnov
A quote by @NTKF to my mum and sister today, after I was carrying on about audio: ‘If it weren’t for my thinking about practical furnishings, Martin would be sitting on cushions under an IKEA Hektar lamp like Steve Jobs, with nothing else in the house other than HomePods’.
As I was sitting in the lounge room, casually browsing Micro.blog, @NTKF came up to me and said, ‘With your fluffy hair, reading glasses and that stern look on your face, you look like Admiral Adama’. I’ll take that as a compliment, thank you very much. 🌟
This has been quite a productive and enjoyable weekend, with a healthy mix of uni work, completed tasks around the house, reading and and quality time with @NTKF. I am lucky to have her to remind me of what I’ve achieved, as I’m often too harsh on myself.
Colleagues are discussing a film and exclaiming, ‘Oh my goodness! Have you seen it in 3D?!’. Holding back a chuckle, I thought instantly, ‘What is this? The year 2010?’.
