At Macca’s in Sydney Airport, hamburgers and fries come from a Futurama-esque dreamworld in the sky. 🍔🍟⛅️

Happy New Year / Frohes Neues to everyone I’ve met here on Micro.blog! Thanks very much for making my online experience enjoyable again. The year 2019 was a great one and I have high hopes for 2020. 😁

Dec 2019

New Year’s Eve game night! @NTKF, her sister and I have had a great evening of egg-and-spoon races, bowling with empty cordial bottles and timed sketching completions. Our illustrations here leave much to be desired.

Django attempts to camouflage with a cushion.

Dec 2019

The years fly by but rarely do we stop to appreciate how things have changed. In this final episode of the Lounge Ruminator podcast for 2019, The ‘Post-PC’ Decade, I discuss my own use of devices since the launch of the iPad in 2010 and new features in the more recent iPadOS.

I visit my Baba every weekend; she hails from North Macedonia and this is her Turkish coffee set-up. The silver thing is her portable Greek coffee stove, along with a few of her favourite cups that show the faces of Macedonian revolutionaries. Classic stuff ☕️

My mother is a master of cheese boards.

Dec 2019

It’s a few years old now but I finally sat down to watch Anomalisa. What a genuine, funny and heartwarming film—I loved it.

Dec 2019

This is Pickles, our resident guinea pig (statue) that we haven’t mentioned before. It sits on top of our bookshelves and while most visitors seem to think it’s cute, @NTKF’s sister is terrified of it and insists that it’s creepy. 😂

Dec 2019

Today @NTKF and I had a wonderful time with my mum and sister, during what will likely be our one time swimming this summer holiday before visiting the US in January. These photos show Port Kembla Beach from the local Olympic pool. ❤️☀️🌊

Dec 2019

A walk along Wollongong’s Blue Mile is a perfect way to end Boxing Day.

Dec 2019

In the seventh episode of the Lounge Ruminator podcast, Look Yonder!, I discuss the value of being truly present and attentive at live performances, along with how different kinds of product (smart or otherwise) can either inhibit or encourage this positive behaviour. 🎙

Dec 2019

It’s not my favourite thing to do but we’re taking advantage of the Boxing Day sales for useful stuff before our trip to GLORIOUS NATION OF U, S AND A. @NTKF cleverly placated me with a double-shot flat white and apple and cinnamon burek before we started.

Django, my brother’s-in-law Christmas pooch

Dec 2019

Well, that’s a bit confusing…

Dec 2019

When Christmas presents must be protected from family members’ dogs… (apparently they still got around it!).

Dec 2019

THE FESTIVUS FEATS OF STRENGTH (at a local swimwear shop, with sister Jodie in the offensive position) 😮😮😮

Dec 2019

We wish a Happy Festivus to all! May your grievances be aired freely and feats of strength be on display! Here we are gathering as a Feld-Kandilas combo around the fabled, tinsel-free pole.

Dec 2019

The transformation of the entertainment unit’s shelving into a majority book nook is now complete. Pâté the Duck looks pleased. 📚🦆

Dec 2019

Why did I spend all of that money on an iPhone 11 Pro? To stick lenses in the faces of cute rodent friends…

Dec 2019

Luminous beings are we… not this crude matter!

Dec 2019

I just finished watching The Mask with @NTKF, who hadn’t watched it before. This film, along with other Jim Carrey classics, was essentially my childhood. Not to mention, the song Hey, Pachuco! has to be one of the most entertaining musical numbers ever in a movie.

Dec 2019

Sharing Home screens looks fun, so I thought that I’d jump on the bandwagon with a new page.
