We met some cute hamster friends at a pet shop in Flatiron today!
I just had a pancake stack for breakfast at a New York diner. I‘d say that a large stack in Australia would include three pancakes; this stack included five, not to mention the coffee whose smallest option was a jumbo mug. If I don’t survive, it has been great knowing all of you.
The US continues to surprise… we quickly ducked into a Burger King for the first time in years—since it was replaced by Hungry Jack’s in Australia—and the restaurant has table service and serves alcohol. Whaaa…?
I don’t really enjoy award shows but I watched some of the Golden Globes tonight purely for Ricky Gervais; he has always been a great antidote to the pretentiousness.
This place in New York City, Capizzi, makes one of the best pizzas that I’ve ever eaten.

At Macca’s in Sydney Airport, hamburgers and fries come from a Futurama-esque dreamworld in the sky. 🍔🍟⛅️
Happy New Year / Frohes Neues to everyone I’ve met here on Micro.blog! Thanks very much for making my online experience enjoyable again. The year 2019 was a great one and I have high hopes for 2020. 😁
New Year’s Eve game night! @NTKF, her sister and I have had a great evening of egg-and-spoon races, bowling with empty cordial bottles and timed sketching completions. Our illustrations here leave much to be desired.

The years fly by but rarely do we stop to appreciate how things have changed. In this final episode of the Lounge Ruminator podcast for 2019, The ‘Post-PC’ Decade, I discuss my own use of devices since the launch of the iPad in 2010 and new features in the more recent iPadOS.
I visit my Baba every weekend; she hails from North Macedonia and this is her Turkish coffee set-up. The silver thing is her portable Greek coffee stove, along with a few of her favourite cups that show the faces of Macedonian revolutionaries. Classic stuff ☕️
My mother is a master of cheese boards.
It’s a few years old now but I finally sat down to watch Anomalisa. What a genuine, funny and heartwarming film—I loved it.
This is Pickles, our resident guinea pig (statue) that we haven’t mentioned before. It sits on top of our bookshelves and while most visitors seem to think it’s cute, @NTKF’s sister is terrified of it and insists that it’s creepy. 😂
Today @NTKF and I had a wonderful time with my mum and sister, during what will likely be our one time swimming this summer holiday before visiting the US in January. These photos show Port Kembla Beach from the local Olympic pool. ❤️☀️🌊
